  • No! While eating disorders and body image are areas I am particularly interested in, I also work with wide range of presentations including anxiety (e.g. social, generalised, specific phobia) and mood disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), personality vulnerabilities, trauma, grief/loss and adjustment difficulties.

  • My fees are $260 per 50 minute session.

    Clients with a current Eating Disorder Treatment Plan or Mental Health Treatment Plan plan may be eligible for a rebate of $145.25 per session.

    If you are experiencing financial hardship, please still feel free to reach out to me, as there may be the option for a reduced rate.

  • No, I do not provide formal family therapy.

    However, if it is clinically appropriate for your individual treatment plan, we may be able to include your parent/s, carer or partner to attend with you. This is done solely to support your personal goals and progress.

  • A Mental Health Care Plan gives you access to a Medicare rebate of $145.25 per session for up to 10 psychological treatment sessions per calendar year. This includes a re-referral from your GP after your 6th session.

    An Eating Disorder Plan gives you access to up to 40 psychological sessions and 20 dietetic sessions within a 12 month period. You will need to be regularly reviewed by your GP and also attend a specialist review with a psychiatrist to access the full 40 sessions. Under an Eating Disorder Plan, there are specific criteria that Medicare require are met, which will be assessed by both your treating GP and myself to ensure this is an appropriate option.

  • If you have a valid Eating Disorder Management Plan or Mental Health Treatment Plan - you should be entitled to a rebate of $145.25 per individual session.

  • Clients with private healthcare coverage may be eligible for rebates on psychological services, please contact your provider for further information.

    Note, it is not possible to access both a Medicare rebate and a health insurance rebate for the same service. However you may choose to use your health insurance once you have used all your Medicare sessions.

    If you plan to access sessions under a Mental Health Treatment Plan or Eating Disorder Treatment Plan, you can also speak with your GP about obtaining a referral.

  • It is important to know that if your primary goal in eating disorder treatment is weight loss, I may not be the right fit to support this. This is because weight loss pursuits in the context of eating disorder recovery often maintains a preoccupation with weight and shape.

    However, if weight loss is part of what has brought you to treatment, you are still very welcome to reach out, as we can explore how weight-related thoughts are impacting your well-being and work towards developing a healthier, more sustainable relationship with food and your body.

    Medical monitoring is also an important part of eating disorder recovery. This is because eating disorders can have significant impacts on both physical and psychological health. Ensuring medical stability with your GP or psychiatrist helps support your safety, and creates a foundation from which meaningful therapeutic work and recovery can take place.
